Getting Real With God
Here is some practical suggestions on getting real with God. I hope that you all put these suggestions into practice. This message is from Pastor Koke at Shoreline Christian Center in Austin, Texas. Here are his suggestions:
1. We need to have the Spirit of God alive in us and not on a bookshelf waiting to be dusted off. It is important that we spent time with the Lord on a daily basis, not when we feel like it or when it is convenient. It has to be daily, every hour of the day.
2. Do not make your prayer life boring, that is praying the same repetious prayers, pray in specifics.
3. If you having some struggles in your life, you need to ask an expert about the situation, a church member or prayer partner. For further information, please go to Matthew 6:5-13.
4. Pray regularly, you are too busy not to pray. Invest some time, the Lord will thank you for it. Pray daily.
5. Pray privately and away from the distractions of life, a good place to pray is in your prayer closet.
6. Pray sincerely---think what you are saying.
7. Pray specifically.
8. The following things are needed to get real with God: Devotional Book, Prayer Journal, I-Pod, Reading Glasses if you need them, and personal worship music, you might also need earplugs.
If this message has been helpful or you are struggling to get real with God, please leave me a comment, thanks. I would love to hear from you and help you anyway I can.
Love, Hugs, and Blessings,
Barbara
